Risk Service Provider CFP: Result and Next Steps

The DAO vote on the risk service provider proposals has concluded, with yRisk receiving the strongest support.
We will therefore move forward with onboarding yRisk as Curve’s full-scope risk service provider. The next step is to finalize the scope, objectives, working process and budget with yRisk, then submit the resulting engagement for DAO approval so onboarding and payments can begin.

Thank you to every team that submitted a proposal and participated in the process. The proposals introduced several useful approaches that can still inform Curve’s risk framework, particularly around methodology, market monitoring, legal and operational risk, and asset-specific research.

The vote established yRisk as the primary full-scope provider. Several other proposals also introduced promising complementary capabilities that could strengthen and extend Curve’s risk framework. The exact needs and best coordination model will become clearer as yRisk’s scope and working processes are finalized. Any additional contributions should therefore be defined collaboratively between the DAO, Swiss Stake, yRisk and the relevant contributors, with clear responsibilities and limited overlap. Where this results in a new funded mandate, it should be brought to the DAO separately.

Existing Curve contributors and recipients of independent DAO grants may also support yRisk where useful, particularly on methodology and pool parameter optimization. This can be coordinated directly with yRisk without creating overlapping provider mandates.

One area requiring particular attention is the assessment of RWAs, permissioned tokens and assets backed by offchain credit. These markets raise legal and operational questions that cannot be assessed entirely onchain, so the final process should define what yRisk covers and when specialist legal support is needed.

The immediate objective is to establish a reliable review process and begin bringing new markets to Curve as quickly as reasonably possible.
