Summary
Kill the gauge for the old sDOLA-long LlamaLend market at 0x30e06CADFbC54d61B7821dC1e58026bf3435d2Fe by setting set_killed(true).
Abstract
The old sDOLA LlamaLend one-way market has since been replaced by a new sDOLA market. To prevent any future emissions or activity flowing to the legacy gauge, we propose killing its gauge on Mainnet. Curve Governance has previously applied the same approach for other LlamaLend markets that were superseded or inactive, via a “Kill Gauges for Llamalend Markets on Mainnet” proposal that set gauges’ killed flag to true.
In addition, killing the legacy gauge will prevent liquidity fragmentation and promote a more efficient allocation of emissions toward active and supported markets.
Motivation
- Market replacement. The earlier sDOLA LlamaLend market has been superseded by a new deployment. Continuing to maintain the legacy gauge serves no purpose, as all new activity should be directed toward the active market.
- Prevent liquidity fragmentation. Keeping emissions open across multiple inactive or legacy gauges can dilute liquidity and reduce capital efficiency. Killing the outdated gauge helps consolidate activity and strengthen active markets.
- Efficient emissions management. Disabling gauges that no longer correspond to active deployments ensures emissions are directed toward productive and supported markets, improving the efficiency of overall veCRV weight allocation.
- Avoid accidental incentives and user confusion. Killing the obsolete gauge removes the risk of future veCRV votes or incentive programs unintentionally allocating emissions to an inactive market.
- Address confirmation. The target address 0x30e06CADFbC54d61B7821dC1e58026bf3435d2Fe is the Curve gauge token contract (listed as “Curve.fi cvcrvUSD Gauge Deposit”) and appears in GaugeController payload history on the Curve DAO frontend, confirming it is a registered gauge address.
Specification / Vote Actions
Set the gauge’s killed flag to true:
ACTIONS = [ # Kill legacy sDOLA LlamaLend gauge (one-way-market-17)
('0x30e06CADFbC54d61B7821dC1e58026bf3435d2Fe', 'set_killed', True), ]
Note: As with prior gauge-kill proposals, this action is reversible (via
set_killed(false)) should Governance later decide to restore emissions.
